10 on 10 - June

A few Saturdays ago I drove my oldest son to Capitola for a soccer game. We usually have to be there forty five minutes before the game starts, in order for the children to warm up for the game. I dropped him off around 9.00am and since I had time to spare, I decided to go down to the waterfront and take some pics. I took my Canon AE-1, a roll of cheap film - I seem to remember it might have been Fuji Superia - and snapped away for forty five minutes! When I got my scans back, I was surprised to see a semi cream colored, pinkish tone in my images (it was a cloudy day so that might have played a big part in the cast?). At first I didn't like it, but the more I look at them, the more I do. So maybe I should continue to buy Fuji Superia - what do you think?

This year, I am joining some of my very talented photographer friends in a project called 10 on 10. We will all take 10 photos on one day and try to tell a story through them by posting them on the 10th of each month. We will be linking to each others' sites to create a blogroll. This project will force me to find beauty where or when I can't see it, and will release my time constraints when photographing the beauty that I do see. Here is a link to my friend Jennifer's 10 on 10. Go visit and follow the blog roll!

I'm finally home! Just like every year for nine now, I have waited ten long months to return to my beloved Canary Islands, in Spain. Ten long months to breathe in my island air and to swim in my Atlantic Ocean. A whole ten months to see my loved ones and…
